CWX Gives Back: A Winterfest to Remember

Bend Winterfest, a beloved annual event, brings warmth and joy to the community each winter. This year is particularly special as CWX President & Co-Founder, Betsy Reed has been crowned the Queen of Winterfest, a testament to her remarkable involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon and her dedication as a Big Sister to Aria.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon is a vital organization that helps children realize their potential and build their futures through mentorship.  A mentor assures young people that someone cares, will be there through challenges, and help them see the strength in themselves. Mentoring has been shown to improve the futures of mentees through better grades, achievement of higher levels of education, and improved relationships.

The Bend Winterfest not only celebrates the season but also highlights the spirit of community and philanthropy. Betsy’s journey with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Oregon and her personal engagements—like being a Chemo Pal for the Children’s Cancer Association and mentoring high school girls—reflect her unwavering commitment to giving back.

Her special bond with Aria exemplifies the transformative power of mentorship, bringing joy and growth to both of their lives. Sharing these stories helps inspire others to see the profound difference they can make in their communities.

“When I’m able to take time out of my busy schedule to be present and give back to my community, it allows me to get out of my comfort zone and focus on a cause bigger than myself.” Said Betsy of working with Aria and BBBS of Central Oregon.
