CloudWerx at Google Next '22

Google Next – the most prominent Google event of the year, kicked off on Monday of this week. The team here at CloudWerx is eager to be among the 1 million attendants looking to sharpen their skills and hear about Google's new partner initiatives firsthand. A rousing keynote from Thomas Kurin was followed by a series of predictions on the future of cloud technology by 10 of Google's industry experts, putting everyone into a mood of anxious anticipation for the breakout sessions to follow. One event highlight was the announcement of Google Cloud's net new logo initiative. "For the partners that are helping us win that new logo, we want to provide additional incentives above and beyond whatever they get," Google Cloud's worldwide channel leader Kevin Ichhpurani told CRN's Mark Haranas in a recent article. These new incentives are meant to motivate partners committed to winning net new logos for GCP from on-premise or cloud rivals – an area where CloudWerx shines. Betsy Reed (CloudWerx' Co-Founder + CRO) sat down with Mark Haranas to chat about the implications of Google's announcement.

Our team's enthusiasm for this news grew as Google launched its Delivery Readiness Index program. Intended to bolster support for partners by providing resources and training, this program ensures both partner and customer success for specific projects. "Ichhpurani told CRN the new Delivery Readiness Index (DRI) program makes sure a partner has all the expertise and real-world experience needed to successfully complete a customer project because sometimes having Google certifications does not necessarily guarantee a partner's ability to deliver," wrote Haranas. For CloudWerx, this signifies the opportunity for us to work even more deliberately as an extension of Google's team. The effort to provide what Ichhpurani called "additional training and enablement to ensure that each customer is successful" is what is needed to close any potential gaps in resources for our customers. These initiatives align perfectly with our win/win/win scenario (for customer/Google/CloudWerx).

As Google Next comes to a close today, our team reflects with gratitude on this opportunity to hear executives share their vision for Google Cloud's next steps, product innovations, and initiatives at a time of significant shifts in the global market. We have enjoyed the chance to align with Google's ambitions to provide our customers with the best tools to transform their business digitally. As a Premier Partner, we look forward to utilizing these cloud innovations to accelerate our customer's growth and ensure they achieve their goals.
